Continuing Education and Training

No matter your age, Fargo Moorhead is a great place for life long learning. Our citizens take advantage of a variety of opportunities in the areas of university community education, workforce training, and professional development.

University Continuing Education

Two of Fargo Moorhead's four-year universities, North Dakota State University (NDSU) and Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM), offer continuing education for adults and professionals.

MSUM's Continuing Studies program offers workshops and cources for business professionals, non-profit organizations, human services providers and educators in a wide variety of topics.

NDSU's office of Distance and Continuing Education is an outreach program that makes the resources of the University available to the community at large in untraditional ways. It offers programs for undergraduates, graduates abd K-12 educators, including online certificate programs and other distance education options.

Skills & Technology Training Center

The Skills and Technology Training Center (STTC) offers individuals and businesses with resources such as professional trainers, customized training materials, and state-of-the-art facilities. The STTC provides the flexibility of customized training at the STTC facility, or on-site at the company's facility.

The Welding Technology Program provides education and training in welding technology as it pertains to assembly, manufacturing, energy and construction. Students gain experience in a wide variety of skills relevant to today's workplace, including robotics, automated manufacturing and even communications.

STTC also operates as a division of the North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS), and students can receive credits toward a NDSCS degree program in the areas of information technology, welding technology and health care. One such program is the Nanoscience Technology Program, a collaboration between NDSCS and Minnesota State Community and Technical College (MSCTC - see below), which helps address the educational and technical training needs in emerging technologies and emphasises laboratory instrumentation techniques and internships with regional companies.

Minnesota State Community & Technical College

Minnesota State Community and Technical College (MSCTC) in Moorhead offers its students enhanced training in advanced manufacturing. Students graduating from the school are highly trained and qualified to work and succeed in their fields. Custom Training Services (CTS) is the college-to-business division of Minnesota State Community and Technical College. CTS builds long-term relationships with regional business partners to meet the workforce and organizational development needs of industry. The key to its success is the design and delivery of quality, customer-focused training and services.
