Summary

North Dakota State University was established in 1890 as the state's first land-grant university. Our mission, while it has expanded, is essentially the same today as it was more than 100 years ago, only today we use industry leading technology to perform our task. We are here to serve people of North Dakota, the nation and the international community through education and discovery, communication, application and preservation of knowledge.

Description

The largest employer in the community, NDSU employs over 4,000 people on the main campus and at research and extension centers throughout the state. We are like a small city in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our employees perform the same variety of duties you would find in any community of some 12,000 citizens.

All of us at NDSU play an important role in serving our student and public constituencies. The role a faculty member plays in a student's future is obvious. What is not so well-known, but no less important, is the contribution staff members make. We often hear from students that it was a listening ear or a kind word from a staff member which helped ease their transition into independence. It is these kinds of people we actively seek out.

We have excellent benefits (employer paid):

Paid health insurance (single or family coverage)
TIAA-CREF retirement for professional positions (up to 10% employer match)
State (ND PERS) retirement plan for most staff positions (9.12% employer paid)
Tuition waiver
Tuition Discount (for eligible dependents)
Long term disability insurance
Basic life insurance
Paid holidays
Paid annual leave (up to 24 days per year)*
Paid sick leave (up to 40 hours per year which may be used for dependent care)* Shared leave (for employee or a family member's severe or extraordinary illness)*

Developmental leave for professional positions

Cancer/intensive care insurance Term life insurance
*not available for faculty/academic staff on less than 12-month appointments

NDSU is an interesting and exciting place to work. We offer a stimulating environment richly populated with people pursuing life-long learning and personal growth. Employees often take part in the life of the university by attending cultural events, lectures, athletic events and walking through our beautiful campus.

Please view our vacant positions and consider one that's right for you. We look forward to hearing from you.
